LBA Latin Business Association

The Latin Business Association (LBA) today announced that it will create business-to-business (B2B) opportunities by matching Hispanic-owned businesses with companies or agencies offering procurement opportunities at the 10th Annual National Latino Business Expo, Oct. 14-15, 2005, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The Expo’s B2B matching program gives LBA members direct access to procurement officers and buyers from large corporations, public utilities and government entities who’re interested in doing business with Hispanic firms. LBA members interested in scheduling appointments with prospective procurement officers and buyers may contact the LBA’s Jimmy Dichirico at (213) 628-8510.

In addition to the business matching program, the LBA will also host networking breakfasts both days at the Expo’s Procurement Pavilion for LBA members who pre-register to meet with procurement officers and buyers. Representatives from the Los Angeles Unified School District, County of LA Public Works Department, the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles, the U.S. Small Business Administration, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Union Bank of California, HealthNet and Blue Cross, among others, are expected to participate.

Under the theme, “A Decade of Excellence in Latino Showcasing,” the LBA Expo will also feature keynote addresses by U.S. Treasurer Anna Escobedo Cabral and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, as well as access to financial services, bilingual seminars offered by business experts and a trade expo that’s expected to draw more than 300 exhibitors.

Established in 1975, the LBA promotes the growth of Latino-owned companies through business development, education and advocacy. Today, the organization boasts more than 1,200 members and provides a series of programs to support Hispanic entrepreneurs throughout the country.
In 2006, the LBA will host a series of special events to celebrate its 30 years of service to the Latino business community under the banner, “The LBA: 30 Years of Making Your Business, Our Business.”
